2001 Sao Paulo CPTM Metro Line 5 reference project

In 2001, a total of 28,450 m² USM 1000 W, USM 2020 and USM 3000 track mats were delivered to Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM) in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Calenberg Ingenieure designs, manufactures and markets elastomeric sliding bearings, and statically or dynamically loaded structural bearings (elastomeric bearings) for buildings and structures, sub-ballast mats and trackbed mats for track construction as well as other elastomer-based products for noise insulation and environmental protection.

These highly elastic conical stud mats were installed as effective components in the mass-spring system on the Line 5 metro route during its construction.

Line 5 runs both overground and underground. The track mats were installed on bridges, such as the one over the Rio Pinheiros shown in the photo, and in tunnel sections in sensitive inner city areas. They provide effective protection for residents and their homes against the noise and vibrations produced by passing trains.
