2013 Arnhem (Netherlands), Railway Station
This project in the Netherlands consists of the reconstruction and modernisation of Arnhem's largest railway station, a major transportation interchange in the province of Gelderland.
The graceful, futuristic structure relies on the proven technology of Calenberg Ingenieure.
The freely supported building components in the area of the roof rest on Ciparall sliding bearings, which allow large displacements, if necessary while accommodating rotations.
The low-friction displacement behaviour is perfect for the extremely slender construction of this type of building. The project is scheduled for completion in 2014.
