Grandaire, Berlin

The Grandaire high-rise is a residential building under construction in Berlin-Mitte, near the Alexanderplatz. It consists of two residential towers, 65 m and 40 m tall respectively, and connected by a lobby.

The towers will contain 164 owner-occupied and 105 rental apartments with shops on the ground floor. There are two floors of underground garage under the building. Owner and tenant occupancy is planned for summer 2020.

Calenberg Ingenieure designs, manufactures and markets elastomeric sliding bearings, and statically or dynamically loaded structural bearings (elastomeric bearings) for buildings and structures, sub-ballast mats and trackbed mats for track construction as well as other elastomer-based products for noise insulation and environmental protection.

An underground line passes at a distance of approximately 20 m and a light rail viaduct is approximately 50 m away.

To ensure that no impermissible vibration and secondary airborne noise emissions enter the building, Calenberg Ingenieure has implemented a technically highly effective and economical measure with CIVERSO and USM 2030 bearings. The bearings were placed in the foundation area of the acoustically most severely affected tower wall, starting at the foundation 9 m below ground and terminating at the surface of the site.
